The Medieval Old Town of Tallinn is gorgeous and taking a walk there should be mandatory for anyone visiting the city. However, instead of hearing mostly about stuff that happened in the 14th century, this Tallinn Old Town tour will give you a broader understanding of how Estonians live and think. We will see all of the most important sights, and talk about how Estonians were able to get through the dark period of Soviet occupation (during which they could see bananas, for example, only through Finnish TV) and recreated their country in the 1990s. Estonia is a country where you can vote online (besides taking advantage of hundreds of others e-services), which has had a 34-year old Prime Minister who was well known for wearing bright-colored socks (to match his tie), and has a beautiful singing-like language that perhaps only the Finns are able to decipher.
Kuka on Kadri - tietoja Doerista
I love meeting with new people to exchange perspectives and introduce to them my home country which I am genuinely proud of. I read more news than is healthy for any person, and work as a foreign relations adviser in Tallinn.
Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the rather erratic Estonian weather.
Kadri was fabulous! Her knowledge of Estonia past and present was extensive and she was so friendly! I would recommend her to anyone I know traveling to Tallinn!
