Hi! My name is Elias. I wanted to change my job as a researcher for something more social. So last spring I packed my backpack and did some travelling around Europe. However, my 11 years in Turku have taught me to love it, and in the end I returned. Now I want to share my favourite places and stories of Turku with you, as the people in my travels did with me.
So please, climb aboard, as our walking tour takes us to the seven hills of Turku. With me, you will get a 100 % local perspective on the city. After this tour, you know where to head for the cosiest restaurants, nicest views or an alternative clubbing night. I have some stories prepared for you, but I will gladly discuss anything you want, be it history, society or business life in Turku and in Finland.
Completing the whole tour of seven hills will take up to 3,5 hours and app. 7 kilometers of walking. But don't worry, we will stop for refreshments on the way! :) If you want, you can join only for the first part of the tour, in which we will cover the oldest parts of Turku, see the Turku Cathedral, the university campus, and the wonderful views from the foot of the old Turku observatorium. This first part will take up to 1h 45 minutes and 2,5 km of walking. After the break, we will continue by local transport (you'll need additional 3€ for the bus ticket if you don't already have one!), getting a glimpse of the Turku Castle from beautiful Korppolaismäki, take the symphatetic river ferry Föri across the river Aura and climb to Kakolanmäki prison hill to take a look at the 19th century prison. We will complete the tour near Turku Art Museum at Puolalanmäki, from where you will have a perfect access to city centre.
Welcome aboard, looking forward to meet you!
From Monday 4.6. onwards every day at 16.00 (or please ask for other available times)
Minimum number of persons for tour to happen: 5
Meeting point is at the foot of the stairs of the Turku Cathedral (look for a bearded guy in a yellow vest).
